The Clock

I was walking through town today. It was late afternoon and not many people were out, it was really quiet. So, I turned my head and there it was. The Clock. I've probably passed by it more than a million times, but today it caught my eye for some reason.

We have no time to lose,
and having no time we must scramble for a chance.
We are too poor to be late.
(from Rabindranath Tagore's poem Endless Time)

Linking up with Renae's Picture Poetry. Why don't you visit her lovely blog and take a look?

  1. What a beautiful clock! It's such a lesson to us all to slow down and pay attention to our surroundings.

  2. I have a little thing for clocks(see my post today) but the ones that are in towns are usually so pretty as this one is. Looks like a quaint part of town and a nice day.

  9. Das passiert uns allen, man geht immer wieder dran vorbei, bemerkt es nicht, doch einmal kommt der Tag und man ist erstaunt so eine Pracht zu sehen, obwohl sie immer da gewesen ist...

  17. Evi,
I love to look at the old clocks in different towns that I pass through. Almost every historic town I've been in has a clock in the center of their main street. They are charming, aren't they? Have a nice weekend.

  20. What a pretty clock - we often take for granted the places we see regularly. I've just been catching up on your recent posts. I liked your weekend snapshots - great photos and delicious looking Greek coffee.
