When Harry Met Sally (1989)-Glitter and a Movie Premier Challenge

I'm taking part in this brilliant blog hop today, organized by Marcia at The Shop Around the Corner. It's all about being inspired by a movie!

I loved Nora Ephron's script as well as the performances by Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. What I thoroughly enjoyed though, was the choice of New York locations. It reminded me of my trip there last December, so I decided to combine snapshots from the original movie with pictures I took while I was there. (The snapshots are on the left and my photos on the right).

I'm not sure why, but watching chick-flicks from the '80s and '90s is always comforting to me.

I had great fun with this challenge; such a great way to mentally travel all the way to New York!

  1. Didn't you find that as soon as you landed in New York it instantly felt familiar? What a fabulous city and what a great way you have found through this blog hop to relive treasured memories of your trip there.

    Bon voyage!

ps Isn't Cabrel's song 'La Cabane du Pêcheur' wonderful?

  3. I love it all, Evi!! And it certainly fits in with our party...which has no requirements, just some guidelines to give you lovely guests some ideas.
Your collages took be back to all those gorgeous scenes which remind me of the many times I've been to New York. I simply adore that city. I know Paris is it for most women, but for me it's NY. The only season I have never visited is autumn, and it's my favorite season of all, so I'll have to do that some time. "Chick-flicks are ALWAYS comforting to me, and I'm glad I married one of the few guys out there who actually likes them too. ;) LOVE the music, by the way.

Thank you for playing along. :)
    XOXO's,
    Marcia

  9. Evi, I just HAD to stop by again this morning. I can't get enough of your images. I know I can look them up online, and I have quite a few in albums myself, but it makes me smile to see them here knowing that you are a part of our quaint movie lovers gathering. I can say that I've skated at Rockefeller Center, so looking at that tree makes my heart beat faster. ;)
Hope you don't mind me stalking you. ;)
    XOXO's,
    Marcia

  10. Great film, great pictures.
You know Meg Ryan is my favourite actress, and When Harry met Sally was her big break, so it's a film that means a lot to me.
In fact it probably means more to me now than ever, knowing that Norah Ephron is dead and Meg has retired from movies.
And you're right this post does allow you to mentally travel all the way to New York!
I think I'll head over to Marcia's blog and have a look at the other entries.
