"the early evening sky was a prism of colors"

As day faded into night,
she loved watching the sky turning from blue to gray
to orange and yellow
at the western rim of the world.*

*Both the title of this post and the quote in italics are from Nicholas Sparks' novel Safe Haven. I always enjoy his books; despite how predictable they may be, they are comforting. This one, however, was a real page-turner with quite a few twists in the plot; at some points I felt I couldn't read fast enough. I loved it.
I haven't watched the movie yet but the trailer disappointed me a little. Nothing can beat The Notebook (2004).

The view is (again) from the top of our building.

Have a great month you all!

  6. I haven't seen "The Notebook" yet, but as always I enjoyed your photographs. They reminded me of the old proverb: "Red sky at night, Shepherds delight."

    1. Thanks for sharing the proverb Paul! I hadn't heard it before.

You should definitely watch The Notebook, I promise you will LOVE it!

Did I tell you I saw Joe Versus the Volcano? I liked it. It was definitely different from what I'm used to. I especially enjoyed the beginning up until the quitting scene. I could empathize with Joe. John Patrick Shanley did a great job conveying the gloominess and sadness a job you don't like can cause. I was a little confused towards the end but I blame it on my jet lag. It was the first movie I watched in the US. Anyway, as always, thank you for recommending it. If it hadn't been for your review I wouldn't have noticed it. :)

    2. Thanks Evi. I'm always nervous when someone watches a movie on my recommendation so I'm glad you enjoyed some parts of Joe Versus The Volcano. Like you I totally empathize with Joe!

  8. How terrific to be entertained by the changing horizon from the comfort of your own home!

The second part of the proverb mentioned by Paul S above - "Red sky at night, shepherds' delight" is - "Red sky in the morning, shepherds' warning".
