  1. You guys have a *pool* on your building's roof? What am I still doing here? ><

The Smithsonian castle looks interesting. What exactly is in there? Have you ever been inside?

    1. Yeah.. I've noticed that most apartment buildings have pools here. Pools are very popular. I don't like swimming so I just enjoy the sight of them. (you know what they say: "The cleanest pool is the dirtiest sea")

I haven't been inside the castle and-I'm quoting the official website- it's "home to the Smithsonian Information Center as well as the Institution’s administrative headquarters."

    2. I never heard that saying! But it's true though, I don't like swimming in public swimming pools because they gross me out. Especially not since I had the pleasure of swimming in a Swedish lake, filled with clean melting water... nothing beats that experience.

RYC: Aw man, to step in dog poo, that'd be the worst! Luckily, we have our own garden; I don't think I'd want to walk out without shoes when I don't know what's hiding in the grass.

    3. Piling up the comments here... Sorry ><

RYC: I tried blowing out my curls a couple of times, but decided it does nothing for me. See, my hair is really thin, and I also don't have a lot it, meaning: I actually almost look bald with straight hair. So no flatiron for me! But it looks really nice on you. I actually can't visualise you with curls, to be honest!

Layers are a godsend. I don't know why so many hairdressers automatically go for a straight cut when there are curls involved! (or a brush-out *shivers*) Is it that hard to figure out what works? If one of your regular customers has wild curls, is it such a hassle to look up what products and cuts would work on her?

  2. I feel the architecture in the states is so much more...noteworthy than here in Canada, even though both can't really compare to elsewhere in the world. I love your photo of the smithsonian castle! Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Well, the downtown of cities is definitely interesting in terms of architecture. As you drive farther, towards the suburbs, it's just malls and square little buildings. I'd love to visit Canada one day. Nova Scotia looks beautiful!

    2. Canada is definitely on my "to visit" list, but then it's a very, very long list indeed.
