walking in dc and The Nutcracker

It was absurdly warm and humid yesterday, but as we had tickets to The Nutcracker, we decided to go to Washington a little earlier and walk around.

Huge wreaths are so festive!

We headed to the sculpture garden in the hope of taking some pictures of the ice skaters, but the ice rink was closed due to the rainy weather.

We did see some interesting works of art, though.

On our way back to the theater...

The Warner Theater is small, but the atmosphere was warm, cozy and Christmas-y.

I think it was the first time I watched a live ballet performance and it was very impressive. Taking photographs wasn't allowed, but you can take a look at this video.

Then, we walked to the Capitol.

Have a festive week!

  4. Ballet dancers always have such muscular legs. I'm actually kind of jealous... But then I imagine the years and years of training they put into perfecting their bodies' abilities, and then I think: "nah".
