random snapshots 7

Random snapshots are pictures that never made it into proper posts.

Audrey... tulips... nothing new here.

Arlington, Virginia; just before the winter storm started.

Reflections on the metro window.

From our snowday in Washington.

 The Library of Congress.

Saturday, early evening; Capitol Hill.

Walking to the metro station...

  10. Lovely randomness ;)... I suffer from Acute Library Envy so I'll have to see those in details - drooling allowed, isn't it?! - tomorrow. I'm beat. Long day at the Office and it's late here. Love that last photo - Snow wanting to cocoon the world and the sun shinning through full of promisses and teasing...
Wishing you a lovely, warm and safe night,
    Teresa

  11. Jimmy T's looks like my sort of place "a cash-only, sass-heavy hole in the wall that has steadily become a Hill institution."
Did you take any photographs of the interior?

    1. Paul, thank you so much for this article! Now we want to go back even more. It was closed when we got there unfortunately. Yes, it's our type of place too. My husband discovered it online and insisted that we go take a look but we hadn't read all the details about it and we hadn't realized that one of the owners is Greek.

I hope we'll go back soon and I'll take pictures.

  16. Oh Evi, I think I like your random pictures most of all. They tell me that they are unique and special in there own way even if they don't come with a story because the story is in the picture itself. I love the charming brick side walk with all the snow. And the time clock in Washington pic is so cool. Your white tulips with Audrey was another favorite. Keep taking those random pictures, and always let me know when you post them. They speak to my heart.

    Love,
    ~Sheri

  25. Hey Evi - last night I watched the first couple of episodes of House of Cards, and guess who they made me think of? Yes, you! (good guess)

I must say, your photos have made me think I would like to visit Washington one day, and considering I would never have considered it previously, that really is something. It looks fascinating. Thank you for all the lovely pics!

    1. Hi Ed! What a coincidence! We started watching House of Cards last Saturday. We're on episode 8. It is good, isn't it?

Washington is a fascinating place in its own way. I'm trying to explain why I get so fascinated by it, but I can't. It's a great place to visit; I can't understand why New York gets all the credit for the East Coast.

Thank you for your kind words, Ed! ;)
