snowday, part 2: walking around Washington, DC

No, taking pictures from the comfort of our own home wasn't enough. So we spent the day trudging through snow in Washington.

Getting to the metro station was a challenge as the sidewalks had disappeared.

Washington was very white and very quiet.

The White House was whiter than usual.

A guy was wind-skiing.

Mr. Einstein was just sitting there.

Georgetown was empty.

Yes, I know what you're talking about.

It's still snowing!

  4. Αχ!

  12. Here it is the rain and the rest of mayhem from storms - winds (in some places hurricaine like), snow too and not only in the highlands as it used to be...
I can't say I'm too bothered... but I feel a happy dance coming when I see a sun ray so it's a sign that it's a great time for global warming to make an apearance ahahahah
Hope it's still a lovely Valentine's and a warm and safe Weekend for you.

  15. Lovely photos of DC - reminds me of my very first winter there (1962) when I arrived from England and it snowed heavily. The city looked so beautiful and I had to buy boots!! I even skated, my first time ever on the Reflecting Pool of all places! I lived downtown, then moved close to Georgetown - it was a wonderful place to be.

Thanks for the movie choices - I've added three to my Netflix Queue - we love tucking in by the fire these cold nights with a good movie! Our snow of last week is just about gone - know you had much more than us so are probably still digging out!

    Hugs - Mary
